A deep purple iris.. some

petals to soul infold

.. some

to world

unfold.. and not

til a day of

awesome power did

one see

that half of the bloom

was a royal

purple butterfly

.. not petals

but wings.

She

might have seemed

by work earthbound

but as she takes flight

or of a sudden alights

she is always free.
