after many years burst
into full sunlight
above the home.
Seen through her
open spaces, the
neighboring pink magnolia
seems a branch of her tree.
Her April branches
of cream bloom
are a spiral staircase
into the vastness
of the sky..
as discipline
eventually becomes
freedom.
