QUEEN ANNE'S LACE TWO
A table on which the bees
may sup
For them by His grace
God has raveled out of
space
a table which has merged
with its
cloth of lace
QUEEN ANNE'S LACE I
Queen Anne's Lace
Sun's crystallized grace.
Her roots go much deeper
to the waters of God
She is able to weave
pure lace out of sod.

Author of "Valerie'
Loving and good father
Fighter for liberty.
Middle East expert
Eyes of bluegreen fire
Poetsoul of Isle of Eire
all saints' hagiography
No stars exist
where he ought to be
to outline his perfect form
No suggested symmetry
inside which to conform
He is unbounded joy
infinite space
He is living forever
He is love unlaced
He is Godward desire
Jesus' heart burning
Melted his yearning
In the father embraced
N AND M
If en and em make verbs from nouns
as in 'enjoy' and in 'embark'
and if love moves to verbs from
grounded nouns
as the rooted become winging larks
so N and M are synonyms for Lovers
... they are the first initials
of my mother
CRICKET CHOIRS
Cricket choirs
Concerts of toads
Solos by the nightingale
and the meadowlark
counterpointed by
the inexhaustible throat
in the song of the brook
and the bee's buzz
ambling through blooms amber
WILL TO JOY
Out of the caged
parakeet songs to the sun trill
Out of the men on the chain gang
pain made music spills
How much more should the free
to spread cheer love and joy.... will
ILLUSORY EPITAPH
Are all gravestone epitaphs
reductionist insults
to the infinite love
once caged in that body..
Whether it was in bud form
or blooms full blown
it is love
which now is free
BEYOND THE BLACKBERRY BRIERS
Beyond the blackberry briars
which bar barristers
and the wild rose thorned barriers
do blackbirds upwing
(upwinger: a word from F M Esfandiary,
Persian poet)
FORGIVE BECAUSE
He forgave all when
he realized that all lines
of every human being actor
were written by the
Divine Playwright
(sparked by Sai Baba's line
'the actor who slapped you on stage
waits behind the curtain to
congratulate you on your performance')
IS NEARLY EVERY PEARL PURLOINED?
Untimely ripped from the cloisters
of most innocent oysters
is nearly every
pearl
purloined?
The oyster suffers when the
pearl is made
and suffers more when
his lots are divided amongst others..
his jewelry stolen
his flesh consumed.
UNDER COVER
May and Mother Earth has
gone under cover
hiding herself neath fields
of daisy and clover
SLOW LEARNER III
Great poets have
tried to teach with levity
that rhythm and rhyme
are as important as brevity
HITLER'S CONCERT
If Hitler heard concerts
and then waged war
the music pacific
was not with message
sufficiently specific
If a bombdropper writes poems
of sunrise skies amber
1 room in his cerebrum
speaks not to another
brain chamber
THE SEA IS WAVING
The sea is waving.
Is it a hello or a goodbye?
It is up to each to decide.
HIVE OF MY HEART
In the hive of my heart, unstolen from bees, is stored my
infinite love for you.
LOVE NOT FORCE
Love not force rides the free horse
SOUNDS OF MANY WATERS
Rain drumming on the roof
but softly dripping
from the leaves
Frozen snow
soundless drops
Quiet the great river
flows near the sea.
Over stones the singing
brook
the waterfall's
constant roar
The lapping of the
boat rocked lake
Waves doing omkar
to the shore
(Baba said the waves
are ever engaged in omkar
or the repetition of Om))
WEAVER OF LEAVES
Oh God who weaves
evaporating leaves
and knits the mist
into fluffy clouds
rain now where
mercy calls for You

DAWN FRAMES
Dawn frames the ebony sky of night with
a pink fringe
*
CALLA LILY
Lovely leelas for every calla lily
has the Lord of Light
while the wind sings lullabies
to each lilac.. every eve and night
SOUND OF THE SEA
in the conch the sound of the sea
and endless pears contained in pear seed
in the tidal pool are caught the stars
in the eyes the light of God
*
NIGHT OUTS THE STARS
Night outs the stars. Each falls in love with his
own light, realizing he need no other.

SEED CREED
Within each seed
is his own creed
unfolding as
sunsparked
and freed.
Within each heart
a loving creed
affirming rights
of every weed.
yes
I feel like
this often
Bravo!
One day too
I shall rise
like a tree
with my arms
bending and praising
God in the wind.
