Second Sunrise And Other Poems

SECOND SUNRISE

As souls stir
miles away from her
shores
as they smell the sea
or see the setting
rays gild every tree
.. so did our hearts
leap each night
when he walked in the
door..
sunset was our
sunrise.
Since he has left
We have missed him
every hour of our lives..
Our earth sunset
will be
Reunion's sunrise.

(to our father)

CLOVER AND OERHOVERER

You are the nectar, the hummingbird, the clover.
You are the bloom, the
bee, the OerHoverer.
You are the child, the care and the mother.
You
are the Love, the Beloved, the Lover.

(to our mother)

SUN MOON AND STARS

When we were children,
we thought
our father was the gold sun,
and our mother the silver moon.
Not til earth set and
turned away from his sun, did we see
she was all the diamond stars.

FATHER'S LAP

Like little children
crawling joyfully
on a father's lap
trustingly do
tendrils of the vine

reach out toward a fat
tree trunk of olive
ready to make grapes
of the earth of olivine

STATUES OF NONLIBERTY

Many mothers
and every tree
are statues of
nonliberty
.. rooted
by
their nurturing love

(to NL)

OUR FATHER

He told each of us
we were his favorite..
and he told the truth
for he gave his all
to each
and sacrificed his
life for each

ONE FATHER'S STORY

7 children
disbarred by KKK judges
before the Great War
Parkinson's
bankruptcy

during hours of despair
arms trembling he
playing solitaire

as God smashed
his dreamhouse of cards

greathearted
laughing conscious Buddha..
who need have no earthwins
to ignite
others' light

BABY BIRD OF HIS HEART

God entrusted
the baby bird of his heart
into the nest of his mother's
hands coupling

that with each beat
of her heartdrum she repeat
his name
and make of her nested
hands a cup ling

DESTINY'S MOTHER

Destiny's sire
is desire.
Destiny's mother
is heartfire.

TEACHER STARS

Clouds of emotion
have blown away
One sees and hears
the teacher stars

FOR CALVES ALONE

Cows' milk God
made for calves
The udders
of the mudders
for their babes alone
and the little calf
considers it an elixir
when he receives
mother's love
as he licks her

ANATIFEROUS

Oh anatiferous
mother duck
her presence
is ever
to her babies good luck

EVER WELCOMING

The blue sky welcomes
expanding green tree lace
The sea greets
all arriving rivers
The river accepts
newly born fishes
There are infinite chambers
in the mansions of Abba

(to my beloved K with
whom I had a wondreful
river ride)

A CUCUMBER UNENCUMBERED

Mother vine feels
unencumbered
by her myriad
cucumbers.
And the tree of
apple is
unencumbered in
alchemizing her
fruitgifts umber..
They let their
babies
unperturbed
slumber.

MOTHER DROMEDARY

The camel carries
his own water
and for babes Mother Dromedary
carries her own dairy
.. not for the human tots
of Londonderry
but only for little
dromedaries

Their own mothers' milk
and juice of fruit groves
are to humans provided
by God's treasure troves.

LOVE OF THE RIVER

In the city's banks
are wills
containing parents'
projected love of
their children.
On the river's banks
are willows..
receivers and givers
of
the love of the river

ISHITARO'S MOTHER

(Issa, most kind monk,
married.. His wife
gave birth to a son
who died
and then to another child
Ishitaro who died of
suffocation tied
to his mother's back.)

Ishitaro.. you must
have been a high soul
of many lives..
that God would call
you back so quickly
as God stabbed
your mother's heart

RAVEN'S NEST

A raven's nest
said the nature show
was lined with deer fur
.. (perhaps left behind
on tree branches
or in snowy depressions..
beds abandoned..)
tangible symbol of
the blanket of
parents' love

Quoth the Raven..
We Love you
EVERMORE

UNIVERSAL NONVIOLENCE

To be aligned to Your
words of nonviolence
God cause all
preachers and gurus
and monks
that none harm a
weed or a chimp
or chipmunk

Our mother worked from 5 am to midnight for 20 years in her job and in her 2nd job of raising her family while she cared for an invalid husband

Animal flesh or meat is from animals at the rate of 100 to 1000 lbs. per acre. Dairy are somewhat more. Potatoes are 80,000 lbs per acre. Fruit yields 450,000 lbs. per acre (if one is talking of centenarian apple trees dropping 2 tons each). This is a figure which does not even calculate with trilevel agriculture in which vines and plants among the trees are planted. The universe has designed incredible abundance. The first slaughter began to destroy the plan of God. http://www.acorn.net/fruitarian> http://www.mad-cow.org> http://www.madcowboy.com> http://www.pcrm.org> http://www.notmilk.com> http://www.milksucks.com>

Author's Notes/Comments:

Someone with the gift
of prophecy told
the writer that her
father had taken
on a special cross
of Parkinsonian paralysis
as a sacrifice to
ease the lives of his
wife and 7 children.
