The gold blooms
were covered with white snow
like
gold locks which overnight
turn to white
from shock or grief or fright
PAIN IS ENERGY
One thought the wind
did him assail
another knew it empowered
his sails
And a third
was grateful that
someone loved him
enough to lift
the needle from
the stuck rut
