Into the sun's paintpot tip
dawn her broad paintbrush dips.
Beams of light now everywhere drip
as from bloom dewcups
butterflies sip.

The wind tried to send
the scarecrow to heaven,
blowing his straw astray.
But he's been stuffed now anew
oer the asters and neath sunrays
*
It was no Godwilled benison
when deer slain into venison
wrote an orphaned doe
to her dear froemd Tennyson
*
Neath whitetufted chickadees
Near the blueclad chicory
the courageous ALF
have set pigs and chicks free
*
(to the majority members of the
Animal Liberation Front
who are not government
or corporate informants)

The prosecutor's cant
is 'no you can't'
but God's unfeathered quill
writes as destiny what you will

*


A rose by any other hue
smells just
as sweet
but red roses attract
angry bull bees
while white roses attract
Ferdinand bees.
Even so all new roses
dispel bee neuroses.
