Smell-Alerting Military Dogs
JC told us when he was stationed in Germany he attended a many bands concert in Nuremberg at which a lot of pot was smoked. He was not a partaker. The following day was an inspection using military dogs. One stopped by the duffel bag at his bunk and would not leave. The dog had smelled pot on his laundry bag. He was called in for questioning and given a blood test which came up negative. The atmosphere at the concert had settled on his clothes. Another military inspection was done
before the troops returned to the US. A fellow soldier had bought
chicken to eat on the plane. The dog nearly tore apart the duffel
bag trying to get to it. If he'd been a vegetarian he could have saved himself some time.
