Ukraine unilaterally separated from the Soviet Union Aug 24, 1991, followed in December of that year by Boris Yeltsin's
decision to withdraw Russia from the USSR.
What if Alaska, Texas or California decided unilaterally to secede from the US? The last time it was tried, the US had its most devastating war in terms of the number of casualties.
Putin, a KGB agent when he lived in E Germany, already has had his revenge, punishing all of the US for
the crimes of Bush 1 and the economic destabilizers at Harvard, if it is true that he helped
Donald Trump become president. It is not the Russian government but worldwide animal lovers who have caused the
shutdown of yet another Russian fur factory because of declining sales. Because of the sanctions against Russian goods instituted by several countries, Russia has increased its
economic connections to China, a country whose government Putin has it seems not criticized. Some have predicted that Putin
will do nothing if China invades Taiwan which has long
been independent. While Ukraine has been independent as of 2022 for more than 30 years, Taiwan has been independent for at least 72 years and was founded when people opposed to Mao
emigrated there from China.
The US government has a double standard. A seceding US state
caused war here, but in Ukraine and elsewhere our government enabled secession.
