The PBS series Closer to Truth is False in stating that most scientists do not believe in the existence of the soul. There is no reputable study proving that assertion.
Vivisectors (pseudoscientists who torture animals, some for corrupt reasons of money and power, others in the mistaken belief that animals do not have souls), would perhaps behave
less as biological sadists if they believed animals have souls and that there is karmic
return for inflicting suffering on any being, let alone the most vulnerable and powerless.
Animal studies can not apply to human beings who are a different species. Thalidomide which caused pregnant women to give birth to babies with deformed or nonexistent limbs did nothing to dogs. There is much more hydrochloric acid in the stomach of carnivorous animals than that of humans. The website quora.com states "The stomach acid in carnivores is usually much more potent than that of herbivores. In general, the more meat you eat, the more likely it is you'll get some disease or parasite from the meat."
