In 1971 Canada and the US banned haggis from the UK because of sheep lung flesh
The ban includes all lungs, as fluids such as stomach acid and phlegm may enter the lung as fluids such as stomach acid and phlegm may enter the lung .during slaughter.and cause tuberculosis. Canada later lifted its ban.
