In 1932, Tuskegee research on 600 black males for FORTY !!! Years began in Macon County, Alabama, conducted by the National Health Service. In 1946, the CDC joined the study.
100 men died, many in the 2nd group deliberately infected by
the Centers For Disease Control with syphilis
and not given penicillin, an effective treatment. A press report in 1972 caused cancellation of the human research. Otherwise who knows how many months and years it would have continued.
