My grandfather died in the imperialist Spanish American war after contracting malaria. His wife was widowed, his 2 toddler sons made fatherless. My great grandfather was a union soldier in the Civil War Three brothers in law served in the military .. My uncle J was in the D Day invasion and badly wounded. My uncle C had a military connected brain operation. My nephew was in the disastrous Bush-created Iraq war in a very dangerous place. Several cousins have been in the military
