Veterinarians
Many veterinarians
for charity animals do little.
They are very different
from Dr. Dolittle.
Fewer veterinarians
now break the law
in kidnapping animals...
detaining them
until the bill is paid.
While many physicians
engage in hypocrisy
as they daily violate
the oath of Hippocrates,
the farm animal veterinarians
the lab animal veterinarians
take no such oaths.
While hospital emergency rooms
are not allowed to deny treatment
to the uninsured poor,
veterinarians have no such constraints
often turning away suffering animals
and their humans.
Animals have been defined in law
as property (as soldiers have been
defined as the property of the US
Government.)
