Alora a dog was found locked in the trunk of a car. That did not keep the Nwe York City Animal Care Centers from killing her. Many dogs and cats are constantly trembling in fear as they lie on concrete floors inside cages alone. Animals are abandoned when people move, when they have a baby,
when someone dies, when someone gets an allergy, when a neighbor complains of barking.. Animals are abused by neighborhood kids
or left out alone 24x7,  often without water or food in baking heat or freezing cold. Pets are stolen and sold to research labs. United Health Care billionaire family member and former Tennessee senator Frist (who pushed for Pfizer

and other drug company immunity from liability when their vaccines kill or injure people) wrote in his book he pretended to adopt a cat at a Boston shelter and instead took her to a Harvard research lab. The odds are 10,000 to 1 that she was killed after she'd been subdivided or otherwise tortured.  Pets are abandoned, dumped on roads. An animal answering service reported
one dumped dog had stayed by the telephone pole at which she was left for 48 hours, chasing every car thinking it might be her family returning. She was lucky. A neighbor adopted her. It took a long long time for her broken heart to heal. Many dumped dogs are not lucky eough to find new homes.

Children given bunnies at Easter don't take care of them. Sometimes these bunnies are given to zoos which feed them to snakes.

Footnote: Twitter has a very active animal rescue network, but the

problem is foster and permanent homes are not available.
