There she was, sitting on a mountain, the mother of everything, the mother of life. Gaea was suffering after realizing how mistreated her kingdom was. Gods from all around the earth reunited and sent their most devoted followers to scout their respective domains in order to end with this madness. The bear, under Artio’s orders, visited all the forests and clans in order to inform them of the gods’ actions for the protection of the earth. Along his journey, the bear saw destroyed forests, dry rivers and wastelands. And so he returned to talk to his companions. He reunited with his fellow emissaries in order to discuss the situation and its consequences.
“How bad is the situation in the seas, Dolphin, my friend?” said the bear.
“You don’t want to know, my friend” answered the dolphin.
Soon afterwards, the eagle arrived with information sent by Zeus. The gods had banded together and will now control with harsher punishments the transgressions in their domains.
“We must find the cause of this disaster and soon, lest we end up destroying our homes and ourselves on the way” said the bear.
Upon expressing their agreement, all three godly envoys departed to spread the word of the decision reached by the gods, the possible consequences and to find the source of the destruction of their habitats.
Although their journey was not a simple one, the bear, eagle and dolphin persevered on their quest to save their homes, but it was to their dismay when they found out the reason for such atrocities to occur. The dolphin found out that the predators of the sea had started to hunt in excess the, normally abundant, smaller fishes, thereby destabilizing the aquatic ecosystem, what with the shortage of fish the bigger predators started to fight over territory for food.
The bear found out that the forests had been destroyed because some of the clans from the forest had started competitions of strength based on who could take down the most trees in a set amount of time and the sport had become quite popular, as such all the smaller animals and all the grown food started disappearing. With the eagle, the different birds in the sky had started a fight for nesting sites and the possible homes for the mothers were running out.
The selected bear, dolphin and eagle established a treaty when they informed the clans of the consequences of their actions, as such, the amphibians of the sea would check and help regulate the forest clans, the forest clans would help build homes for the bird clans and the birds would help regulate the hunts and quantity of food of the fishes so that they wouldn’t starve, as such with time and the cooperation of all involved their lives stabilized and the ecosystems once more flourished thanks to all of their work together.
