Unsolicited Introspection
Chance encounter, all it takes
To rouse that tickling tinge
Of what words can’t half describe
Whose referral incites to cringe.
His philandering gaze sure does
Excite considerable unease
Wonder if friendly reciprocation hides
Smile’s reluctance to cease.
Somewhat begrudged I do admit
Makes me her blithe presence
Her usual peck on his cheek
Leaves me muddled on the fence.
Jumping early to conclusions
Or restricting heart’s discretion?
Guess introspection impairs
Ardor’s capability and function.
So why not rather submit
Not disorient what fate’s desired
Let the art of adoration
Engulf with it’s intensity fired!
