Sila narodnaya, Partiya Lenina,
sing worshippers of that embalmed fiend, in the
Red Square tomb, for whom so many were slain or died,
and still his need for vengeance was not satisfied.

Author's Notes/Comments:
The title is taken from lyrics in the state anthem of the now defunct Soviet Union. I have reversed the order of the phrases, so that the title can be translated, "Power of the people, the Party of Lenin." The poem suggests a hypothesis I have held for some time: that Lenin's politics, which resulted in the founding of the Soviet Union, were, in fact, a ruse to disguise his true motivation---which was to wreak vengeance upon the Romanov family and the Orthodox Church for the death of his older brother who had attempted to assassinate Czar Alexander III.
