. . . how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed . . .
---Philippians 4:12
Saint Paul, subjected to Nero's disdain,
was to a rented, guarded house confined:
joyous in his Faith, he did not complain,
nor stooped to rage or anger, nor maligned
the inconvenience of his situation.
His Gospel Faith in Christ, as his Salvation,
precluded compromise to such temptation
(pitched by the enemy to foul and trample
Christ's blessings in that venue). Lord, I pray
that my minor affliction, day by day,
shall give my Faith triumphant demonstration,
making---to those who read this---good example.
I ask you, Lord, that, here in my own home,
lead me to follow Paul's good mood in Rome.
