the Bithynian boy whose beauty was so obvious---

wuth a personality humble, vivacious, and courteous

(his soul and body both exquisitely amorous):

he nourished your love for him with his sweetness

(but old prudes' and haters' virulent prejudicw

cut his life down before it reached its completeness.

By your dearest wish and imperial will, Antinous must be

celebrated in homogenic poetry:

he, whom Christ has received into Heaven's Eternity.
