Your kindness, kisses and caresses soothed my pain.
You covered my need with them, as your profuse mane
of curls and ringlets spilled over me like a cascade.
In your strong arms' gentle embrace, I was no longer afraid.
In your presence, I felt safe from bullies' assaults and abuse;
and free of corporate schedules, and their calendars and clocks.
The fragrance and flavor, and softness and warmth of your socks
(unshod almost always because of your militant dislike of shoes)
danced all over---all over!---my body with agility.
To you, BlueShift, I owe this declaration in Poetry.
