Far from the bad news that circles the globe's

spun girth---delivering great or small shocks;

here in this chapel for the length of one

attentive hour free from your peers' abuse

you listen to the perfect harmonies

from which all trace of sour cacophonies

have been extracted; as one lovely boy's

uplifting, rapturous, and practiced voice

dispels the storms that rage within your soul

sometimes:  long-haired, slender and beautiful,

your lover whose name is John Edleston

Beneath his trousers' cuffs and long choir robe's

low hem, his feet (not now confined by shoes)

are sheathed in softness---semi-sheer gray socks.
