I am glad the arrival of two thousand twenty-six:

it is the fiftieth anniversary

of the most transformative and extraordinary

year of my life, nineteen seventy-six;

the year "Fairy Jerry" was excized from being my identity;

and, despite the discouragements of local pricks and kicks,

the year I became devout to Poetry.
