If these walls could speak
They would ask me why my nights are so quiet
Unlike in the past, filled with laughter and love
I would show them my torn face and ask for their sympathy
In hopes they would see it’s out of my hands
She has washed herself of me
If these walls could speak
I’d ask them to play back my life like a movie
From childhood to this very minute
And I’d burn up with the happiness
And freeze up with the despair
If these walls could speak
I’d ask them what to do next
They would tell me to rest my eyes
And surrender into that humanly thing called sleep
While they make sure to keep a watchful eye over me
