It’s the writing I miss
And the sex
Well the things I equate to love due to my views and perceptions and misconceptions of life
So the sex and the writing
And the way you made me feel
Wanted for that energy I bring to life
The light in the darkness that just grabs attention by breathing
And the comfort
Like I always knew you
And the restlessness
Like sleep was a waste of knowing you
And staying awake all night was a waste of sleep
And the conversations
Not the real ones, face to face, but the text ones
In the moments where time runs slow and I can breathe you in like molasses
Have trouble, gasp and share the sinking
In the response
How your sink into me too when time lets you be just you
And the poetry
The potential
The “I can do anything I want to do because I am me and I make it happen” attitude
The vivacity you brought out of me
But… let’s be honest
It’s mostly the sex and the writing
I didn’t love you
I created you
Until you were moments of magic and poor slight of hand
And memories of more than a man insecure because he was nearing forty and single and didn’t even know how to love his own home… forget me
I created you
Into the perfect muse, lover, partner
Because it’s the only way to justify the sex and the writing
As if they themselves weren’t enough for interaction
For romance
As if you had to be more to be less
.
Like sleep was a waste of knowing you
And staying awake all night was a waste of sleep
And the conversations
Not the real ones, face to face, but the text ones
In the moments where time runs slow and I can breathe you in like molasses

Love the poem Dear! These lines simply jump out at me (out of context?) and create an inner poem (perhaps for me alone) either way, I love it;-)
"In the moments where time runs slow and I can breathe you in like molasses/
