I put up the tree today

So my loved ones could help me decorate it tomorrow

Swept the mess it left across the floor

Got out all the nutcrackers, snowmen, and trinkets I own

Hung cards from Christmas past across the archway

Switched my action figures from star wars andCaliforniaraisins to clay-mation Rudolph and Jack Frost

Put all the bins away and sat down to relax

Before I realised what ALL of it would mean

Then I cried so hard the lights blurred
