anger, first there is anger
at you, at me, at the world, at life
anger deep red like theNilepost Moses
strong as thousands of slaves searching for the promise land
behind it runs the blame
for leaving, for lying, for hurting me,
for not doing what you said you’d do, for shutting down,
for giving up on us, for never being an us in the first place
after that walks regret
slow and sad and bitter melancholy
how did I stop seeing you? and why did I lie when
you tried and tried and tried and I still said “not good enough”
after that stands reflection
frozen in time like glass, transparent
yet resembling something like the image of a woman
trapped behind a shrew screaming “STOP THIS! JUST LOVE HIM”
there lies the truth
saying “I can let this go, I’ve let love go before”
and “maybe it’s for the best, we simply do not work…
there are other fish in the sea” and “ I will find someone else who fits me”
under that is me
shinning, out stretched like a star,
taking all the space I dare take, knowing that truth means well,
is just trying to save me some pain, thinks she is just in her speech
and beneath me is you
that calm, loving, reassuring you
trying to crawl to the surface and remind me who you are
struggling to press back against the weight upon your shoulders

yep. at one time the future
yep. at one time the future was yours to communicate. we witness quotes that are verbalized outta hope. and yet, even though we grapple the activity with enthusiasm and try to take control of our future, we realize we didn't see hope for what it really is... which is hope. and hope is great, but we dress it up as some ambitious word that WILL be done. why is that? HOPE, i guess.
great poem! made my brain ramble. and that's a good thing! (least in my eyes)
grasshopper
:) thank you
thank you for your kind words, I am glad you enjoyed the read and also, that brain rambling is good for you :) mine sure could use some quiet sometimes......"at one time the future was yours to communicate" I am glad that came across in this work, sometimes I fear I can be too subtle yet obvious.... as for the hope...I tend to perfer faith, it is trust and trusting in life and the process...to me hope is desperation, and I don't like being desperate.... funny though that I feel both ease and resentment towards this poem...

Just wanted to respond to
Just wanted to respond to your reply. I thought it was kinda sad that you said you see hope as desperation. To me, hope is for the future. Faith is for the here and now. They're close family. I put my faith into action now in the middle of this gray, mundane day, because I still have hope for a colorful, radiant tomorrow.
for me hope tends to be used
for me hope tends to be used in situations when we want something to be different than it is, we hold out hope for what we desire, which to me is a desperate action. Whereas, faith, is believing that things will always be as they need to be, if they are difficult now, it is okay, thaat is how they are, and it will not always be so.... it's just diofferent relationships to words. I relate to words not just as they are defined but also how they are used in every day action, for thats the energy signiture they recieve.... :) thank you for the reply :0 good conversation is always a blessing :)
