Walls Closing In

You keep pouring though I’m filled to the brim,

Oblivious to the situation.

It’s a time of my life that’s sink or swim

And I’m up to my gills in hydration.

I have much to give and want to give it

With talents I’m game to put to the test,

But if there is peace I want to live it,

Not gasp for air as the walls are compressed.

I realize that friction can lead to fire

But it does not work as life’s driving force.

Still, I intend to walk this shaky wire

And soldier on till I master the course.

Out of the dust a diamond will burn bright.

Here it comes – watch me sparkle in the light.
