I'm informed by seasonal sights and sounds
Yet seldom touched by their tidings so glad.
Yuletide spirit of others knows no bounds
While I merely muddle on worn and sad.
I picture you this Christmas all alone,
Kept far away from those who love you,
And Old Man Winter chills me to the bone.
What good is a wish that won't come true?
Then Christmas Eve shines its light upon me,
Acts of goodwill on every corner,
Wonders too big for children's eyes to see,
And everything feels a bit warmer.
I'm reminded of your forgiveness and gratitude
And I experience a grand change of attitude -
This year, although we may be apart,
You've helped me keep Christmas in my heart.
