I Completely Lost It

At last I reached the summit of a dream

After waking moments filled a lifetime,
Yet dreams, like illusions, aren't what they seem.
They fall out of step with reason and rhyme.
Still, they seem mine to catch from up this high
As I survey the once impossible.
All at once I wish to sever each tie
And abandon all the responsible.
I've stood inside my would-be masterpiece.
I've dared to stand up against the wind.
All the dreaming inside me hasn't ceased.
In spite of the colors I haven't sinned.
I mounted high wire and I crossed it,
Then I looked down and completely lost it.
