August is Coming

Mornings beckon with sand dunes and sunlight,

Warm days waking us in simple grandeur.

As the hours gently ebb into night

I long to indulge in pleasure most pure,

Your steady gait shadowing my footsteps

Before we join hands and cherish the day.

We’ll take in the sights, darken kind doorsteps

And allow our worries to drift away.

I'll chuckle wiping ice cream off your cheek,

Rebuke the gulls in pursuit of our lunch,

Explore every angle of your physique

And become looser with each sip of punch.

Think of it now. Oh, what fun it could be!

August is coming, love. Share it with me?
