Guilty as Charged

I'm already invested to the max,

Teeth gritted, hotly foaming at the mouth.

I can't rest for a minute, won't relax

Until all the goslings have headed south.

You confirm at once with your biting gaze

Each utterance to have not passed your lips,

Judging the intensity of my ways

As I force moons into solar eclipse.

I never said the truth would set me free.

I'm guilty as charged. In that we agree.

In Pamplona or in a china shop

There I am charging fiercely at full speed.

I forever see red and will not stop

Until every last drop of it is freed.

Often I wonder if I'll cross the line

Making my best hopes irretrievable,

Yet as I cool down and senses align

The chance of that seems inconceivable.

I never said the truth would set me free.

I'm guilty as charged. In that we agree.
