Waiting impatiently
Wanting to know
The suspense is killing me
You don't even know
Are you safe
Will you make it home
You know I don't want
To be left all alone
Expecting a call
I know will not come
You don't have a phone
Are you on your way home?
I really can't take this
The mysterious unknown
The endless silence
The deafening tone
I hope I hear soon
So I don't go insane
Its tougher and tougher
This mental felt pain
I love you so much
You know it is true
Hurry home
So I can hug you!
excellent poem

Don't let any one shake your dream stars from your eyes, lest your soul Come away with them! -SS
"Well, it's love, but not as we know it."
=)
Thank you!
Good write! This reminds me
Good write! This reminds me of the things my wife would say after I finally made it home after something had happened at work. I always knew I make it home, she always worried. I think you captured the fears of anyone who has ever pondered life between the ticks of a clock. Well done ;-)
Thanks!
It was awful, this one experience...
My mom was undergoing radiation treatment in LA, about 2.5 hours from where we live. On this one particular day, I couldn't go with her, and she did the long drive herself. Hours and hours went by, no word. I called the radiation department, and she got there okay, and she left in one piece. But no one knew where she was. I couldn't take it anymore, so I started searching, literally driving around my small town in search of her. And you know where I found her? At church! It was a Wednesday, and she had choir practice. Scolding my mom outside of her church is a memory I'll never forget. It's comical now, but geez...
