Creature of God

Full of wonder, free of care,

Soaring through the clean, blue air.

Pure as silk, with Heaven’s light,

God’s own, snowy white.

Eyes soaring high above,

Explore the land with overwhelming love.

Bursting with innocence, harmless at that,

Never wanted or dreamed of enduring combat.

Perched on a cross of hope,

Finding it hard to even cope.

So much danger lurking below,

Evil wandering each plateau.

People mourning down below, not one is content,

Land of maleficent behaviour and torment.

Bang, the shot of a gun did roar,

With an almighty fall, the dove hit the floor.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I got inspired after seeing a bird in flight and wondering what it would be like to be a bird.
