Addiction
There is nothing no one can tell you
There is nothing you feel you can do
It’s an addiction and to beat it
Will be a task this is true
You will steal, lie, and cheat
Just to get a hit
You will lay your life on the line
To just get a feel for it
Needing it to live, or so you think
Is your problem …..
It will actually kill you in one blink
of an eye
So open them wide and please realize
You are killing your self
No matter what it may be
This addiction is taking over
It’s taking over our relationship
The bond between you and me
Please take a look
At what you have become because of it
This addiction baby
Ain't worth SHIT!
As an alcoholic, who hasn't taken a drink since May 1976, I am right there with the addiction and what it does to those closest to the addict.
I would imagine this is written from the heart. I makes me feel my past, and that's good.
