when it comes time to leave me,

please don't leave a note.

nothing you say

could ever make our problems go away.

you were never good with words,

so i'm letting you off the hook.

when you feel it's time to leave me,

lock the door on the way out.

with all the pretty girls with all their pretty faces,

a man can only stay so long.

you see it coming, so do i.

why do you think i've been running all this time?

no, when it comes time to leave,

i will already be gone.

i will have found a way,

because nobody breaks my heart.

with every minute spent by my side,

i know you need seven alone.

it's a constant battle,

trying to make you happy here.

maybe it's just time to cut ties and cut our loses.

you feel it, oh i know.

how we chose to live is not really living at all.

i need more than half-love.

when you look for plans while we have plans,

i know you'd rather be anywhere else.

how long did you think i could stand to see 

that what you want is not me?
