A Broken Paddle

A Broken Paddle

God spied a broken thing abandoned in the surf buried in the sand. God asked the angel what is that there? A broken paddle it is of no use said the angel. Bring it to me. But Lord…. Yes Lord. The angel retrieved the paddle. See it is broken. Yes it is let me fix it. Beautiful music began to come from the paddle. I don’t understand said the angel. That is because this while a poor paddle I agree is not a paddle at all but a very fine violin. When they tell you what a poor paddle you are it may be because you are not a paddle at all but a very fine violin that God has made so knock out the sand and play.

The next day God was walking along the same beach when he spied the angel all red faced blowing on the end of a stick. God asked the angel “What are you doing?” “Can’t you see I’m trying to play this flute” the angel replied nearly out of breath. “Well you can blow on that stick till the sky falls down but it won’t make it a flute” said God. The angel “but yesterday you took the paddle then it wasn’t a paddle but a violin and I just thought ” God interrupting “listen you just do what I tell you to do, trust me to handle the miracles and everything will be alright.

On occasion but mind you it’s no miracle either that even a stick in the mud get’s a blow job from an angel every now and then.
