Coffee

Coffee

The quiet opens my eyes again to unlive today's moments in turn

I am destroyed by the crushing of the spaces you once filled

Regarding the sun not at all colors pool and condense into gray

I climb the stairs slowly to afford breathing my heart struggles

To the only worldly charm coffee still brings the tide of you in

Through no window I watch the sea foam and hear the gulls cry

You don't approve I know so I'll find my hat and put down the pen

So out into the morning air perchance to glimpse colors of you there

Oh shut up you fools who do not know the bitter taste of grief

Should you then come I will for comforts sake gently understand
