Snow Day

Nature I wake up in the morning
I pull my covers back
Then I turn and look out my window
I see this white stuff all over my window
Then when my toes touch the floor
They immediately come right back under the covers
My body curls up to absorb my heat
But the cold takes my heat and replaces it with chills
My teeth clatter together
The pipes to my house are frozen solid
No water for shower or cooking
I get into heavy duty snow suit
I shovel my driveway
As I'm shivering and trying
Not to let the frozen air
Touch my skin
So I don't get frostbite
When that's done I grab myself
A nice cup of tea or hot cocoa
As I regain my warmth which the
Snow day took away from
Me
