Heaven's Tears

A new angel in Heaven cries

As he reflects back

On his life.

The angel that watched over him

Stands at his side,

Sharing his tears.

They look back together,

Starting from the beginning.

In dark, war-torn Europe,

They see a small boy,

Smiling and playing

In a bright,

Green,

Joyful field

Lit by sunshine.

Then the darkness comes,

And the green field

Turns blacker than black.

No longer joyful,

But gloomy.

No longer bright,

But bleak.

It drags him away,

Him and his family.

Him in one direction,

His family in another.

The last time

They see each other.

Death and darkness surround him,

Giving him no way out.

Freedom does not exist

Anymore.

But then a glimmer of hope

Enters his world.

A light that frightens away

The death and darkness.

His guardian angel appears

And takes him away,

Brings him home.

A new country

A new family

A new life

A new freedom.

He starts to mend

His broken life,

His scarred past.

He now fights

For human rights.

Chasing away the darkness,

And inviting in the light.

Fights for the freedom

That was stolen from him.

His guardian angel

Weeps for him.

Now his job is finished.

His guardian angel

Takes his hand

And brings him home

To Heaven.

I believe

He is now one of them.

A guardian angel.

A guardian

Of human rights

And freedom.

His silent tears

Fall on my face

In the form of rain.

His tears

And the tears

Of all other angels.

Heaven’s Tears.
