Escape
The darkness has entered my home.
It came in uninvited
And it wants to stay.
No matter how far I go,
Or how fast I run,
It always catches me.
It has grabbed onto me
And will not let go.
I can't seem to find the light,
But my small candle of hope
Will keep burning bright.
I run down a long tunnel.
The darkness closes in around me.
The farther I run,
The longer the tunnel seems to get.
T keep running though.
I hear a voice calling out to me.
My hands reach out in front of me
Hoping to grab onto something.
I don't know what is there
And I don't really care.
Anything to escape the darkness.
Anything to see the light of day
Just once more.
It seems impossible to escape
This terrible darkness.
But I keep on trying.
I won't rest
Until I have given it my best.
I won't stay chained forever.
I will escape
And be free.
