My grandfather’s special hat
The very first thing I remember when thinking of my grandfather is his hats. It doesn't matter how the weather is, sunny, cloudy, rainy nor what season it is, winter, spring, summer or autumn, a hat is always at the head of my grandfather but not a small hat, no, a medium hat, an easily seen hat, the one you would take to the beach. I remember seeing his hats everywhere, on the table, on the couch, on the chair, on the kitchen, everywhere. I have seen these hats in my grandfather’s house since I can remember. Every time he goes out somewhere, a hat is going to accompany him. Sometimes there is even a spear hat in his van in case he forgets to grab one before he leaves his house. These hats have been in every single family reunion, whether it is in a house or in a fancy restaurant, it seems that those hats are accustomed to all sorts of places. The only exception I can think of is when the sun is down, only then he is not going to wear one. I can remember when my grandfather got excited when I gave him a hat for his birthday, but it was not just a hat, this hat was special and different from the ones he has, this hat had solar protection and it also it blocks ultraviolet rays. He was so pleased with the gift that until today, he wears that hat every single day and in every single occasion. I can say that it is his favorite one so far. I have to admit that at first I thought that his hats were a little annoying since I saw them everywhere. Now that I think about it, it makes me smile just to remember the fact that he doesn´t care if my family criticizes him for using them always. I have come to like those hats, I really think they fit well on him and they have become sort of his personal mark and of course his lifestyle even though now I realize that I don´t really know the reason of why he wears them, if it is because he likes them or because he got used to them or maybe because back in his day when he was young it was more common to see people wearing hats. There are many possible reasons why he likes hats so much, but one thing is certain, he is not going to stop wearing them.
