I rode today

I rode today.

The feel of my motorcyle as I ride it is pure exhilaration.

I rode today.

Taking the curves on the back roads of Texas, loving all the scenery.

I rode today.

My Blaque Pearls sisters are by my side as we ride as one.

I rode today.

Thinking of my father Reuben, my mother Lucy, my brother Spencer. I smile unknowingly.

I rode today.

Being free and wind in my face.

I rode today.

Where did this car come from?

I rode today.

I was hit and fell off my bike.

I rode today.

I realized what is happenig and closed my eyes in prayer.

I rode today.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I dedicate this poem to my niece Danielle Rivera, whom we lost on a fateful night. Not a day goes by that we do not mourn her.
