My grandpa's toy cars

My grandpa has many toy cars kept on a big showcase in his room. He has collected about 120 toy cars throughout the years and keeps collecting more. He always invited me to his house, which is just beside mine, to chat or play or watch movies. For me, going to his house was just the desire to get those little toy cars and take them to my house. They were always there looking at me, telling me to get them out of the showcase. One day he asked me if I wanted to see his toy cars, so I accepted. At first I thought he was going to let me play with them or at least touch them but he just told me the date and place where he got each one of them. Suddenly he got out a little notebook and began telling me where he got each one of the toy cars. He bought some of them in Mexico, of course, but he also bought some in the U.S. and England and some of them were from his childhood. Sometimes I thought that he might let my cousins play with them whenever they went to his house and that I was the only one without that privilege. Of course nobody had the permission to use them but I was young and very imaginative so I always thought that. A couple years passed by and I began to visit my grandpa less frequently so I started to forget the little toy cars and my desire to have them. Even If I was not there the toy cars were still there like always just waiting and waiting. Then one day when I was 17 years old I went again to my grandparents’ house and there they were. They were in the same position they were once placed long time ago. Staring at them once more after several years brought me many valuable memories. I told grandma I wanted those little cars one day but she just said I had to ask grandpa. I still regret that I didn’t my grandpa about them. Maybe one day he might ask me if I want them, or maybe not. But if he does I will have them in a showcase the same way he had them his entire life. Maybe that way I can know why he had them in there.
