The bravest man I know
Is the man I've never met.
He’s the uncle
Across the street,
Who waves at passersby
Or the grandfather
In church
Who prays for his son.
He’s the father
Who missed the first word
Spoken from his daughter
Or the son
Who lost his leg,
Yet gained a stronger heart.
He’s the man
Whose name is engraved
On the metal around his neck
Or the man
Whose name is etched
In the stone we pass by
I haven’t seen his face
Nor have I heard his story yet
But he’s the bravest man I know—
This man I’ve never met.
How very beautiful and respectful this poem reads...........
