Lost Ice Age

Lost a friendship once or twice

But this time it feels just like ice.

My shattered heart beats so slow,

A lost soul who needs a guide,

I lost the light and now must hide.

Never has it hurt me so,

To see yet another one go.

You’re different and I don’t know why,

It scares me sometimes, and I have cried.

No more do I wish to cry

Over another friendship,

Which again has died.

You leave me with no choice

I tried and tried; you say I do not care.

All I did was try to help

I was shunned and pushed from sight.

I will again take flight

Into the void and endless night.

Warmth had once survived

But now it’s frozen and desolate.

An Antarctic tomb of misery,

Sub-zero temperatures burn my face

I must make haste to save myself,

To the tropics without you there,

Yet another desolate land to try and bear.

Lost a friendship four or more,

This time I’ve been locked in.
