YEAR AND A DAY
Man the sun was beating on my head today, seems like it aint been out in a year and a day. Has the asphalt frying just like before, want the sun to stay around for a while more.
Man my skin is burning and my mouth is dry, but it feels so nice with the sun up in the sky. It’s been a long winter, felt like it would never end, now the sun is shining, enjoy it my friend.
With the sun comes all the things that we are looking for, back yard bbqs, lush gardens outside the door. Beautiful girls and handsome lads by the shore, brand new shorts and bikinis they haven’t worn before.
Harleys riding in the sun, causing quite a storm, leather clad gypsys that you learn to adore, hot rods, skate boards running by the score. Man all I can say is give me some more.
Action at the lakes and parks seemed like a ghost towns before, rumbling of a motor boat, skier hanging by a rope.
Long hairs and crew cuts, Generation X and more hanging out under the trees, doing what they came for.
Man the sun was beating down on my head today, seems like it aint been out in a year and a day.
Surfers in the waters, sportsmen galore, fishing at the fishing whole is better than before. Players on the diamond, with their balls and bats, young lovers in the tall grass making amour.
Fireworks on the fourth of July, man the time goes fast, with the blink of an eye the summer has past. Then we’ll be freezing just like before. I really wish the sun could stay for a while more.
