Bus Ride from Penang to Kajang

Penang is one of the most tourist friendly destinations of Malaysia and is categorised into two main parts – the part, which includes the capital city of George Town, is referred to as Penang Highland and the other one is Seberang Perai. The city has been popularly known as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’ and the ‘Silicon Valley of the East’. One thing I realised after visiting the beautiful place was that Penang is quite progressive commercially as I came across many industries on which the economy was thriving. Not only does it contain a lord of Old World Charm but is also quite modernised in certain sectors. It is known to truly embrace its old customs and traditions and the people here are quite open minded when it comes to adapting to modern ways of life. As I spoke to the locals here, I saw that a lot of them were from different parts of the world. Initially I had problems communicating as most of them spoke different languages.

IN the year 2011, it was names as the UNESCO World Heritage Site and has since then seen millions of visitors every year. This is exactly what brought me to this beautiful place. The food in Penang city truly reflects its old world charm. I found the place to be quite residential with only a few shopping outlets. After I was done exploring this beautiful city it was time for me to spend on something that I loved the most, which was shopping.  I thus went to this website redbus and quickly booked my bus tickets to Kajang, which comes second in line when compared to the variety of shopping outlets after Kuala Lumpur.

The website showed me a list of Bus Operators, which had daily buses from Penang to Kajang City. KPB Express, Jasmine Express were the only top two Operators. KPB Express had about 15 buses plying throughout the day. The first one departs at 9:00 am in the morning and the last one at 12:00 am midnight. This is the first time that I witnessed an Operator having these many buses in the entire day. The total duration of the journeyis about 6 hours but if you book your bus tickets during an off peak time you can complete your journey about 45 to 50  minutes early. The Bus stopped ample times for short breaks. The cost of the tickets start from MYR42 depending upon the class of Bus you book. Jasmine Express is another Operator plying on the route between the two cities. However, it being a Luxury Bus Operator it only had two buses plying in the entire day. The first Bus leaves at 2:30 pm in the afternoon and the last one at 12:00 am along with KBP Express. The cost of the tickets start from MYR50 which is quite reasonable as the economy coach costs MYR42. Eventually, I ended up booking my tickets with Jasmine Express and had one of the most comfortable rides to Kajang.
