People are always trying to be progressive movin on to the next day forgetting yesterdays message
Technology advances as do the prices 
But so does the cost of rent and the prices of the poor mans vices
when I see wealthy people I try not to be envious
For envy leads to hatred and hatred bleeds senselessness
Senselessness begets battery onto the defenseless 
Why you think poor people are always on the offensive
We believe the world is out to harm us 
This city is an industrial farm and we livestock are in surplus
We've been milked for all we are worth 
It may not be a lot in dollar signs but we are still people of this earth
We are all part of this universe
Yet we separate each other and believe unity cannot work
Belief now that's a funny concept
Belief has probably claimed more lives than than the atom bomb swept
But you know it's no sweat we allow our brothers and sister and sons and daughters to slaughter the innocent
And when it's done and over it's like it never happened we just forget
I've seen so many people commit Crimes and have to do time, stealing just so they can put food on the table at supper time
People don't always understand the struggle, they just huddle and think of new ways to give us more trouble 
It's not our faults we have to resort to to these malfeasance
Just to survive to see next years seasons, we sit here believing one day life will be more appeasing but it is only ourselves we are deceiving 
Man I'd let it go back to the days of old
But things change at least that's what I'm told
