Shrink.

He lowered his wire rimmed glasses and whispered,"atonement for your sins."

I kept staring out the window at the people passing by and the ones waiting on the buses.

Their arms filled with groceries, eyes filled with hope and anticipation.

The buses nowhere in sight.

The shrink asked,"Does that sound about right?"

I nodded to shut him the fuck up
and to kept watching the people
I was happy to wait with.
