Driving down 6th st. through skid row
on my way home.
There were cardboard condos everywhere,
strung together with duct tape, gum and shit.
You couldn't imagine the
things people can do with cardboard.
Empires.
This makeshift city had many citizens
within it's four to five block radius.
They lined the sidewalks in their
folding lawn chairs talking about the things that mattered to them.
I drove slow as I always do careful not to hit one of them
crossing the street as they have a tendency not to look
both ways anymore.
